Biography
Using a multitude of materials, db Waterman assembles and mixes techniques to compose scenes of life and landscapes.
The choice of collage as an artistic medium leads her to push her limits for ever more transparency and sets of materials. A variety of materials possible thanks to the collagee db Waterman assembles in her works original photographs, matching papers, acrylic , oil, charcoal, ink and pencil. The variety of resources it can use is essential for it. Its challenge: getting closer to the transparency of the paint. Starting into the collage technique is a challenge for db Waterman because its lack of transparency is ruthless. Finding a way to reproduce the transparency effects offered by painting, in particular watercolor, is for this artist a "great victory". Her preparatory work is reflected in her collages. Layer after layer, the material remains visible in the finished parts. Melancholy as a wire conductive db Waterman, her work allows her to reinvent herself constantly. Having always loved the appearance of the walls worn by time, covered with flagship painting and old posters, it resuscitates this aesthetic with a clear and precise look. The creative objective of her work is to "do something beautiful from decrepitude ". Her paintings, which explore the dissonance between old and new materials, highlight dream and melancholy images.
