Fraction Painting
, 2021An expressive abstract piece by Orly Shalem that conveys fragmentation with its stark contrasts and vivid tension between colors, portraying a narrative of disruption and continuity.
In "Fraction", Orly Shalem explores the theme of fragmentation through a dynamic composition of contrasting elements. The sharp lines and edges within the artwork create a sense of division, while the interplay of deep blues and bold reds against the vast white background conveys a dramatic tension. This visual splintering effect is softened by the blending of colors, suggesting a subtle interconnection amidst separation. The style is bold and expressive, with a mood that oscillates between disruption and the search for harmony. It is an artwork that could stimulate conversation and thought, making it ideal for environments like an office or a contemporary living room, where its emotive presence can be appreciated.
