Bella
, 2024"Bella" by Phil Dynan is a captivating acrylic painting on a 16x20 inch canvas, portraying the artist's characteristic bold use of color and geometry. The central subject, Bella, a regal Siamese cat, is seated against a vivid, geometric backdrop, each section filled with strong colors that echo modern pop art sensibilities. Her deep blue eyes seem to pierce through the checkerboard floor, creating a surreal, almost dreamlike composition that immediately captures attention.
The sharp lines of the background contrast beautifully with Bella’s soft, organic form, symbolizing a balance between structure and nature. The painting's checkerboard floor enhances the visual depth, giving it a dynamic feel while making Bella appear almost three-dimensional. The bold heart in the background adds a touch of affection, reflecting the deep bond between humans and animals. Dynan’s work consistently explores the intersection of color, form, and personality, and "Bella" is no exception. The painting is a delightful mix of playfulness and sophistication, making it a perfect fit for anyone who appreciates contemporary art with a vibrant, whimsical touch.

Biography
My goal is to satisfy my own creativity and quest for knowledge while entertaining viewers with work that may also provoke thought.
Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his original works throughout the United States, Holland, Japan, France and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums, including serigraphy, oil and acrylic painting. His work, as Art Prints and notecards, has been distributed by a dozen Distributors in over 76 countries.
Currently he is working with partner, Anastasia Nelson, in oil and acrylic on mixed media sculptures. The sculptures are generally made from birch wood, but the two artists also create plaster sculptures. The sculptures require dozens of unique bevels (angles) and have an extraordinary and somewhat astounding ability to interact with viewers. Images have motion and morph as the viewer moves in any direction.
Their collaborative sculpture “Starry Night Tardis” won the “People’s Choice Award” at this year’s State Fair. A video made at the State Fair of the sculpture, published by an attendee, has surpassed 8 Million views on TikTok and Facebook. Dynan received an “Award of Merit” for his triptych, “Migration Journey: Welcome to London”.
