Alberta's New Pink Shoes
, 2024Alberta's New Pink Shoes by Phil Dynan is a captivating acrylic painting that combines vibrant color and surrealism in a playful, imaginative scene. Measuring 12 x 30 inches, the artwork features an anthropomorphic cat, dressed in a formal white coat and bright pink shoes, standing against a dreamlike backdrop. The crescent moon hangs overhead, while a patchwork landscape filled with colorful hills and winding rivers adds depth and whimsy to the composition.
Dynan’s style reflects a mix of humor, creativity, and a sense of otherworldliness. The sharp contrast between the cat's formal attire and the fantastical background invites viewers to delve into a world of imagination. The cat's bold outfit, particularly the new pink shoes, highlights the playful tone of the piece. Each brushstroke and color choice emphasizes Dynan’s unique ability to entertain and provoke thought with his work. With a career spanning over 50 years and exhibitions across the globe, Dynan continues to experiment with different mediums and styles. In Alberta's New Pink Shoes, his love for surrealism and vibrant color comes to life, making it a perfect addition to spaces like living rooms, children's rooms, or art studios.

Biography
My goal is to satisfy my own creativity and quest for knowledge while entertaining viewers with work that may also provoke thought.
Phil Dynan is an American painter and sculptor who has exhibited his original works throughout the United States, Holland, Japan, France and the United Kingdom. With a career spanning over 50 years, he has experimented with varying styles and mediums, including serigraphy, oil and acrylic painting. His work, as Art Prints and notecards, has been distributed by a dozen Distributors in over 76 countries.
Currently he is working with partner, Anastasia Nelson, in oil and acrylic on mixed media sculptures. The sculptures are generally made from birch wood, but the two artists also create plaster sculptures. The sculptures require dozens of unique bevels (angles) and have an extraordinary and somewhat astounding ability to interact with viewers. Images have motion and morph as the viewer moves in any direction.
Their collaborative sculpture “Starry Night Tardis” won the “People’s Choice Award” at this year’s State Fair. A video made at the State Fair of the sculpture, published by an attendee, has surpassed 8 Million views on TikTok and Facebook. Dynan received an “Award of Merit” for his triptych, “Migration Journey: Welcome to London”.
